These Apple & Carrot Hard Bones are wholesome and tasty dog treats that your furry friend will love! Made with simple ingredients, these crunchy snacks are perfect for rewarding good behavior or just because.

Ingredients

Scale

Carrot Mixture:

  • 1 cup finely grated carrots

Apple Mixture:

  • 1 cup finely chopped apple (peeled and cored)

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2½ cups whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, carrots, and apples. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, water, and oil. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a stiff dough.
  3. Roll and Cut: Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼-inch thickness. Use bone-shaped cookie cutters to cut out treats and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until treats are hard and golden. For extra crunch, let treats cool in the oven after turning it off.
  5. Cool and Serve: Cool treats completely before serving or storing.
