  • 1½ tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion and garlic: Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef: Cook ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  4. Combine ingredients: Add bell peppers, tomato paste, tomatoes, beans, broth, and spices. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer for 30–40 minutes until thickened.
