Description

Blue Christmas Truffles are festive, creamy, and visually striking treats perfect for holiday gatherings. These no-bake truffles feature a luscious cream cheese and powdered sugar filling tinted blue and coated in smooth white chocolate, then finished with sparkling blue sugar for a dazzling presentation. Easy to make and delightfully rich, they bring a pop of holiday color and sweet flavor to your dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (optional for texture)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract (optional for extra flavor)
  • 4 drops blue food coloring

Coating

  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or candy melts
  • Blue sparkling sugar or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: Beat the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until fully combined. Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract if using, and blue food coloring until the mixture is evenly tinted.
  2. Shape the truffles: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the filling and roll them into smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the truffle balls for 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat the truffles: Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Dip each frozen truffle into the white chocolate, coating completely. Use a fork to lift the truffle and let excess chocolate drip off. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined sheet. Immediately sprinkle with blue sugar or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  4. Set and serve: Let the truffles set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.

Notes

  • Freezing the truffle balls before dipping helps achieve a smooth chocolate coating.
  • Optional shredded coconut adds texture but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Use good quality white chocolate or candy melts for best coating results.
  • Store truffles refrigerated to maintain freshness and texture.
  • Feel free to experiment with different food coloring or sprinkles to customize the look.
