- 1½ pounds ground beef (80/20)
- ½ cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 small onion (sliced)
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
- Sear the Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the patties for 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, melt butter, add onions and mushrooms, sauté until browned. Sprinkle flour, then whisk in broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer until thickened.
- Simmer the Steaks: Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes until cooked through. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

- Ground turkey or chicken can be used as a lighter alternative.
