Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls:
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
Sausage Filling:
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Additional:
- 1 egg, beaten (optional, for egg wash)
- cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
- Cook the sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until fully browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease and transfer to a bowl.
- Prepare the filling: Stir in the cream cheese and cheddar cheese until well combined.
- Assemble: Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll each one up toward the point, tucking the filling inside.
- Bake: Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Brush the tops with beaten egg if using. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Add chopped green onions or a dash of hot sauce to the filling for extra flavor.
- These rolls reheat well and make a great on-the-go breakfast.
