Ingredients
Scale
Pasta and Vegetables
- 12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
- 2 cups broccoli florets
Shrimp
- 1 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined)
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
Sauce
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Extra Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Pasta and Broccoli: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the boiling water. Once done, drain both pasta and broccoli and set aside.
- Cook Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Make Alfredo Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir the mixture and let it simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add Parmesan Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese gradually until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Combine and Toss: Add the cooked pasta, broccoli, and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss everything gently to coat all ingredients evenly with the Alfredo sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese on top for garnish. Serve the Broccoli Shrimp Alfredo warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute fettuccine with any pasta of your choice, like linguine or penne.
- If you prefer a spicier sauce, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, but the sauce will be less rich.
- Make sure to not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and enhances the flavor of the sauce.
