For the Cake:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups whole milk
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
For the Edible Cookie Dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4–6 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pans: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 8-inch round cake pans.
- Make the Cake: Combine dry ingredients; cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, alternate dry ingredients and milk, fold in chocolate chips, divide batter and bake.
- Prepare the Edible Cookie Dough: Cream butter and sugars, add vanilla and milk, mix in heat-treated flour and salt, fold in chocolate chips, shape into discs.
- Whip up the Frosting: Beat butter and brown sugar, add powdered sugar, heat-treated flour, salt, vanilla, and heavy cream, fold in chocolate chips.
- Assemble the Cake: Layer cake, frosting, cookie dough discs, repeat layers, frost the outside of the cake.
- Make the Ganache Drip: Heat cream, pour over chocolate, stir until smooth, drip over cake edges, chill before serving.
Notes
- Use heat-treated flour for all cookie dough components for safety.
- Freeze cookie dough discs for easier layering.
- Best served chilled but at room temperature for optimal texture.
