Description

This Classic Ambrosia Salad is a delightful combination of fruity sweetness and creamy goodness. Perfect for picnics, potlucks, or as a dessert, this no-bake salad is a true crowd-pleaser.

Mandarin Orange and Pineapple Mixture:

  • 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks or tidbits, drained

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 3/4 cup maraschino cherries, halved and patted dry
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, gently fold together the mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, mini marshmallows, coconut, and sour cream.
  2. Add the whipped topping and mix until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Gently fold in the maraschino cherries and chopped nuts, if using.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill.
  5. Serve cold.
