Description

Indulge in the decadent delight of this Cookies and Cream Cake. Layers of moist vanilla cake studded with crushed Oreos, filled and frosted with a creamy Oreo frosting, and topped with even more cookie crumbles. A heavenly treat for any occasion!

Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 15 Oreo cookies (crushed, divided)

Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 10 Oreo cookies (finely crushed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pans: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans or line with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, stir in vanilla, mix in sour cream, and alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until combined.
  4. Combine batter: Fold in 10 crushed Oreos. Divide batter among pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Make frosting: Beat butter until creamy, add powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until fluffy, then fold in crushed Oreos.
  6. Assemble cake: Layer cake and frosting, then decorate with remaining crushed Oreos.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add whole Oreos between cake layers.
