For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 10 Oreo cookies (finely crushed)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Add vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk, then increase speed to medium-high and beat until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes. Add more cream or milk if a thinner consistency is desired.
- Fold in finely crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.
- Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Bring to room temperature and re-whip before using.
Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating on low speed until incorporated.
Notes
- For an extra smooth frosting, remove the cream filling from Oreos before crushing, but keeping it in will make the frosting sweeter and richer.
