  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on or off)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, or until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  3. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and parsley. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
