- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil: In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add aromatics: Saute the diced onion and garlic until softened and fragrant.
- Cook veggies: Stir in the cabbage and carrots and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients: Mix in tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. Simmer for 25–30 minutes.
- Finish and serve: Adjust seasoning, remove bay leaf, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
