Description

This Kafta Kebabs recipe features flavorful Middle Eastern-style ground beef mixed with fresh parsley, onions, and aromatic spices, grilled to juicy perfection. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal, these kebabs are easy to prepare and ideal for grilling enthusiasts looking to enjoy authentic, savory kebabs.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 1 medium yellow onion, quartered
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, washed and patted dry

Meat & Spices

  • 600 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon seven spice pre-mixed spice blend
  • â…› teaspoon cayenne pepper, more to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onion and Parsley: In the bowl of your food processor, add the quartered onion and fresh parsley. Pulse the ingredients until they are finely chopped, ensuring an even distribution of flavor throughout the meat mixture.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: Transfer the finely chopped onion and parsley into a large mixing bowl. Add the lean ground beef along with salt, black pepper, seven spice blend, and cayenne pepper. Using your hands, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  3. Form the Kebabs: Take portions of the meat mixture and mold them around skewers. Aim for kebabs about one to one and a half inches thick so they cook evenly and hold together on the grill.
  4. Grill the Kebabs: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side, or until the meat is fully cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Serve: Remove the kebabs from the grill and serve immediately for the best flavor and juiciness.

Notes

  • If you do not have a food processor, finely chop the onion and parsley by hand.
  • Make sure your hands are slightly wet when forming kebabs to prevent the meat from sticking.
  • You can adjust the amount of cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
  • Serve with fresh pita bread, garlic sauce, or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • For best results, use lean ground beef but not too lean to maintain juiciness.
