Description
Indulge in the refreshing sweetness of this homemade Mountain Dew ice cream without the need for a churn. Creamy and citrusy, it’s a delightful frozen treat perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Ice Cream:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ¾ cup Mountain Dew (regular, not diet)
- 1 teaspoon lemon or lime zest (optional for brightness)
- green food coloring (optional for color)
Instructions
- Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 3–4 minutes.
- Prepare the Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, Mountain Dew, and lemon or lime zest (if using).
- Combine: Gently fold the whipped cream into the Mountain Dew mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the mixture. Add green food coloring if desired and fold again.
- Freeze: Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe loaf pan or container, smooth the top, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until firm.
- Serve: Scoop and enjoy the cold, refreshing ice cream.
Notes
- For extra fun, top with crushed citrus candy, whipped cream, or a drizzle of lemon-lime syrup.
- You can substitute with other citrus sodas for different flavors.
