Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, maple syrup, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Combine and Bake: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples and nuts, if using. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let the bake cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with milk or yogurt.
