Ingredients
Turkey:
1 (4–6 pound) bone-in or boneless turkey breast, skin on,
Seasoning:
2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1 teaspoon paprika,
Additional:
1/2 cup chicken broth or water, 1 onion, quartered, 3–4 garlic cloves, smashed, 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Turkey: Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix olive oil (or melted butter) with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and paprika. Rub the mixture all over the turkey breast, including under the skin if possible.
- Cook in Slow Cooker: Place the quartered onion, smashed garlic, and herbs in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour in the chicken broth. Set the seasoned turkey breast on top, skin side up.
- Cook: Cover and cook on Low for 5–6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Crispy Skin (Optional): For crispy skin, transfer the cooked turkey breast to a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes, watching closely until the skin is golden and crisp.
- Rest and Serve: Let the turkey rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
