Green Beans:

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed

Smothered Sauce:

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook the bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onions: In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion in bacon drippings until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.
