Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated erythritol or allulose
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add Sweetener: Stir in the erythritol (or allulose) and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it bubbles and slightly darkens.
- Pour Cream: Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking continuously. Simmer and cook for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Finish: Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and salt. Let cool to thicken. Serve warm or refrigerate.
Notes
Notes:
- Allulose creates a smoother, more traditional caramel texture and won’t crystallize like erythritol.
- Reheat gently before serving.
