Description

This Taco Cheese Ball is a crowd-pleasing appetizer that combines the flavors of a classic taco in a creamy, cheesy dip form. It’s easy to make and perfect for your next party or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

    Cheese Ball:

  • 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp diced jalapeños (optional, seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced black olives (drained)
  • Coating and Garnish:

  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips or Doritos (for coating)
  • optional garnish: shredded lettuce, cherry tomato halves, green onions, cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and taco seasoning until smooth. Stir in shredded cheddar, diced jalapeños, and black olives until evenly distributed.
  2. Transfer mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap, shape into a ball, and wrap tightly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 3–4 hours for best flavor.
  3. Just before serving, roll the chilled cheese ball in crushed tortilla chips or Doritos until fully coated. Place on a serving plate and, if desired, garnish with shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green onions, and cilantro.
  4. Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, mix in 2–3 tbsp salsa or chopped green onions before shaping.
  • To keep the coating crunchy, roll in crushed chips only right before serving.
