- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
Liquid:
- ½ cup beef broth or water
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Sauté onion and bell pepper until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Brown Beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add Spices: Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Cook briefly to bloom spices.
- Combine Ingredients: Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and broth. Stir well to combine.
- Simmer: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes until thickened.
